PA Conservation Pioneers

This video describes the lives and work of Pennsylvania Conservation Pioneers who are included on the marquee display at the Forest Heritage Discovery Center in Caledonia State Park. These include Dr. Joseph Rothrock, the father of forestry in Pennsylvania; Mira Lloyd Dock, a leader in city beautification and first woman member of the Forestry Commission; Gifford Pinchot, the first head of the US Forest service and twice governor of Pennsylvania; and Maurice Goddard, a pioneering forestry educator and leader in creating many of Pennsylvania’s state parks.
