Keeping Pennsylvania’s Woods Safe — One Friend of Penn’s Woods at a Time
Did You Know? Each year significant life-threatening injuries occur in the woods due to chainsaw accidents, pesticide exposure, and navigation mistakes. Proper training can significantly reduce risk and keep Pennsylvania’s woodland community safe.
The Pennsylvania Forestry Association Woodland Safety Training Fund was created to assist individuals and organizations access training that improves woodland safety, preparedness, and responsible forest stewardship. The fund was created by a passionate member of the Pennsylvania Forestry Association who believed strongly in keeping those who work in and enjoy our forests safe.
What the Fund Supports:
• Chainsaw safety training • Pesticide safety and application training • Woodland safety workshops • Proper use of forestry tools and equipment • Protective gear and risk awareness education • Orienteering and navigation skills • Wilderness First Aid / CPR certification • Other woodland safety training opportunities
Who May Benefit? PENNSYLVANIA FORESTRY MEMBERS THAT ARE:
• Private woodland owners • Forestry volunteers • Conservation organizations • Outdoor educators • Young forestry professionals • Anyone who loves Pennsylvania’s woods
