The 2005 award for Outstanding Tree Farm Inspector of the Year went to Bob Hobbes, Hobbes Forestry Services, of Tunkhannock, Wyoming County. Bob has been a strong supporter of the program for almost two decades, inspecting his first Tree Farm in 1986 as a forester for Proctor and Gamble. Since that time, Bob has inspected and certified many tree farm properties across northeastern Pennsylvania.
Bob has worked with numerous successful Tree Farmers including several past state and regional winners. Bob also works to promote Tree Farming whenever he can. Many events have been held at Tree Farms properties that Bob has managed.
Bob is also a very active forest community member. He holds memberships in the Pennsylvania Forestry Association, American Forestry Association, Society of American Foresters, and the Association of Consulting Foresters. Bob also serves on the Sustainable Forestry Initiative’s implementation committee and Pennsylvania Forest Products Association’s forestry committee.
