The Pennsylvania Forestry Association (PFA) is a non-profit association deeply committed to sustaining the rich forests that are so much a part of the Commonwealth. Almost 60 percent of Pennsylvania is forestland, a valuable natural resource providing opportunities for recreation and forest products—and a woodland home for Pennsylvania wildlife, plants, and flowers.
The key to successfully meeting the demands made on our state’s forests is education—the PFA’s primary role. Each year, we offer a variety of programs and publications to promote a better understanding of proper forest management. In addition, we offer scholarships to enable teachers and students to participate in forestry-management programs and workshops.
Your donation will allow the PFA to continue to educate its members and other citizens of the Commonwealth. With your help, we will be a stronger organization that continues to educate the public on the importance of sustaining the Commonwealth’s forestland.
There are many ways to sustain the PFA and contribute to our important mission. Every gift, large or small, makes a difference.
PFA Endowment Fund
The PFA Endowment Fund was established to expand and enrich the mission of the Association. Both unrestricted and designated gifts are accepted, and none of the funds are used to support the operating budget. The Board of Directors will consider using undesignated funds for support services only when unusual, temporary, or difficult circumstances arise and only when gift restrictions permit. Designated gifts will be scrupulously stewarded.
Joseph E. Ibberson Endowment Fund
The Joseph E. Ibberson Endowment Fund supports the Pennsylvania Forestry Association’s efforts to foster the preservation and wise use of all the forest lands in Pennsylvania, including their flora, fauna, water, and air. Ultimately, the Fund helps the PFA preserve the environment by promoting sustainable recreation, abundant wildlife, pure air, pure water, and sustainable timber products. A key function is to educate landowners and the general public via workshops, publications, conferences, and school teacher program. The endowment assists the PFA in its fundraising efforts via mail, direct solicitation, and the magazine.
Henry Chauncey Endowment Fund
The Educational Testing Service established the Henry Chauncey Endowment Fund in honor of its founder. The fund supports PFA educational activities—especially for teachers, students, and forest landowners—that foster the conservation and wise use of all aspects of forested lands in Pennsylvania.
If you value the work the Pennsylvania Forestry Association does, and you would like to see our work continue, please consider including the PFA in your will.
